Emily M. Farris Texas Christian University

Emily M. Farris is an Associate Professor of Political Science and core faculty in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies at Texas Christian University. She has regularly taught courses on local politics, as well as classes including Texas Politics and courses that center racial and ethnic politics (Immigration Politics and Policy; Civil Rights Movement in America; Latino Civil Rights Struggle). She has served as the Urban Politics Section Chair for the American Political Science Association and the Southern Political Science Association. She has published on local, urban, and racial and ethnic politics, as well as the politics of education and criminal justice politics and policies and is currently working on a project on how to better teach polarizing subjects and civil engagement in American politics courses.
