Professional Practice for Foundation Doctors

I liked the way this book integrated non technical skills with knowledge and addresseda wide range of subjects. Foundation Stage competencies are addressed.

A nice and supportive text for foundation doctors. It covers a wide range of important issues. It is easy to understand and clearly laid out. It covers things that one doesn't usually find in such texts, i.e. punctuality.

I would recommend this text for use by final year students so that they can begin to use this in their assistant ship period. I think that it is a useful aid memoire and quick reference book which will help build confidence and competence in their early years.

This is a useful summary of professional issues. It might be of use to Foundation School Directors and Managers.

Innovative book. Broad range of topics. Good chapter on patient safety, particularly on introduction to theories of error, however a little light on how to avoid making errors yourself. In general, a good text.

This is a clear and readable book. The examples are realistic and relevant. I can see a role, especially for the more insightful student, although I am not sure I can see this being used as an 'F1' text. I don’t currently specialise so won't be using this text.

Thorough overview and up to date.

Well laid out, good case studies and examples. Useful resources mentioned. Good to see sections on Health Management and Legal Systems. Research skills chapter could do with references to BMJ articles on qualitative research and mention increase in academic posts and academic careers.

Topical, timely and covering important ground. Useful having all this information in a single volume.
